What is an Expedition?
MY Expeditions are immersive, outdoor adventure elopement experiences. They’re built for photographers who want more than the typical industry workshop. The focus is on real-world adventure, intentional storytelling, and learning how to work in wild, unpredictable environments.
At each Expedition, I teach how I work with couples and how I create timeless images in powerful landscapes. The locations are often remote and not easy to access. Some require helicopters, 4x4 vehicles, or solid hikes to reach. The effort is part of the experience.
No matter how we get there, I’ll show you how to create strong, intentional imagery.

My experience attending Tyler Rye's Dolomites photography workshop in Italy was nothing short of EPIC! Even before arriving, the online workshop covers so much to prepare you before you even start shooting. Location scouting, gear, editing, social media, helpful apps, and real life elopements are just some of the many topics covered. I loved being able to dive into the educational side of things prior to the trip through his online elopement workshop and the workshop pdf to get the majority of my questions answered and loved how transparent everything was.

I have been following Tyler’s personal work since 2023 and he quickly became one of my favorite photographers. When I learned about his expedition workshops I was thrilled to see a bucket list location (Iceland) was happening this year. As someone who truly loves unique adventure opportunities/ locations this workshop did not disappoint. Tyler himself is incredibly warm, welcoming, and humble. The models, outfits, and locations were top tier. I attended Tyler's expedition in Iceland and it was a great experience! I had no prior knowledge of Iceland so I used this expedition as a way to scout the area out and become familiar with Iceland. Tyler found some incredible spots for us to stay at and to photograph at! He taught us how to be intentional and pose in unique ways. I learned a lot and was grateful he was there to show us around!
Highly recommend doing a workshop or expedition with Tyler if you're a photographer wanting to break into the fine art wedding or elopement market!

During the entire workshop, I felt like I was given so much to work with and had every opportunity to learn and grow and trust me, I took FULL advantage. From planning to executing, Tyler went above and beyond for us and I can’t thank him enough. This trip was everything and more and I am in awe of his talent and ability to create masterpieces in 96km wind. LOL I truly had THE BEST time and by the end of the workshop, I felt truly connected to everyone who attended and I loved the editing game we did the final night.

This was my first time attending any type of photography workshop and my expectations were blown away! Everything was perfectly planned out. He took us to breathtaking locations for our sessions, booked the perfect accommodation for us to stay in, hired great profesional models and a super helpful assistant (shoutout to Joel) and not a single day lacked adventure. They’re not called expeditions for no reason! My expeditions included early morning hikes to catch the most perfect sunrise, hiking a glacier with crampons, shooting in the rain and cold weather, off-roading on the defenders, a speed boat excursion to one of the locations, a session with horses near the beach and more! Hard for me to choose a favorite because I loved every moment.
