Location Scouting
If you’re searching for a Zion elopement photographer, you’re likely trying to figure out three things: how to elope in Zion National Park, how much it costs, and who you can trust to help you do it right.
I’m Tyler Rye, a Zion elopement photographer based just outside Zion National Park. I help couples plan intentional, stress-free elopements with epic scenery, clear guidance, and timeless photos that feel real not staged.
From permits and locations to timelines and lighting, I handle the details so you can focus on the experience.
My approach
Zion National Park is one of the most iconic places in the United States to elope. Massive sandstone cliffs, desert textures, narrow canyons, and dramatic light create an unforgettable backdrop for couples who want something meaningful without the chaos of a traditional wedding.
A Zion elopement gives you:
-Fewer people and more intention
-Freedom to create a day that actually feels like you
-Incredible scenery without traveling internationally
-A calm, unrushed wedding experience
-Eloping in Zion isn’t about skipping tradition. It’s about choosing a better experience.
Why Couples Choose a Zion National Park Elopement.
An experience that feels effortless, intentional, and deeply aligned with your celebration.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the permitting process for Zion?
Yes you will need to apply for a permit if you want to exchange your vows inside Zion National Park. It’s a simple process that costs $100 and should be done at least 3 weeks before your elopement date.
What is the best time of year to elope in Zion?
There isn’t a “bad” time to Elope in Zion. However I think fall and spring are the best times based on weather. The summers get hot and busy while the winters can get surprisingly cold. Regardless of the time of year I’ll help you plan a unique and amazing Elopement.
Are there park regulations or guest limits?
It all comes down to the experience and memories you want to have. To simply get a permit to Elope in ZNP is $100. Most of my clients spend $5000-$10,000 on their photography and video.
Do we need to find the locations ourselves?
I take care of all the location scouting. Once I have a signed contract and deposit we can start the planning process. This starts with me sending you a list of locations to look at and we then work up a timeline based on the spots you like
“Tyler is of the best elopment photographers in the world. He did our elopment/mini wedding in Zion and blew our expectations out of the water. They are absolutely stunning. His way of incorporating nature into the picture while still keeping you the main focus is impressive. He is so good at what he does that it inspired me to take up photography and I have hopes to learn from him soon. I wouldn't waste my time looking for anyone else. Just book him, you wont regret it.”

“The shoot turned out better than I could’ve ever imagined. I was so happy for the snow that brought us to this unique shoot in the desert. He has such an incredible eye for landscapes and knows exactly how to find those off-the-beaten-path, picture-perfect destinations for engagement and elopement photos.”
Alyssia Bifano
“We had Tyler take our elopement photos in at two locations- Bonneville Salt Flats and Zion National Park. He scouted for the best areas to capture what we wanted and we couldn’t be happier with the results. He is incredibly talented at what he does and his photos are absolutely stunning. Four years later, we still love looking at our wedding photos. They are simply timeless. Would 1000% hire him all over again. Highly recommend!!”

Beyond his talent, Tyler made the whole experience effortless and fun. He knew exactly how to guide us while letting our personalities shine through, making us feel comfortable even in the wild Icelandic terrain. It’s rare to find a photographer who can make you feel like the main characters in an epic love story, but that’s exactly what he did.”
DENIL S .
"Beyond the talent, it’s the experience that sets him apart. Moab is an incredible place, but Tyler took it to another level. He knew the light, the landscape, the exact timing to get the most breathtaking shots. He didn’t just take photos; he told our story in a way that felt natural and effortless. Every single image feels like a piece of art, and we honestly can’t stop staring at them.”
