Tyler Rye Workshop at the Bonneville Salt Flats
I had the opportunity to host my first Elopement Photography workshop at the Bonneville Salt Flats. I have been hosting Photography Workshops for over 5 years now and it seems crazy that this is the first one at the Salt Flats. Needless to say we had an amazing time and were able to get some amazing pictures.
During the Workshop we did two shoots. One at sunset which you can see when you look at the pictures below! The other taken at sunrise at the same location. It’ pretty interesting to see the color differences between the two shoots so make sure and check out the other session as well!
I can’t say thank you enough to all the amazing vendors that came together to make this shoot happen! My workshops wouldn’t be able to happen without all the help from so many amazing people!

Workshops like this aren't just about capturing beautiful content—they're about understanding how to tell a story. The Bonneville Salt Flats can be minimal and quiet, so the key is bringing emotion into the frame. That’s what we focused on during this shoot: working with movement, mood, and connection.
The wind was wild, the temperature dropped quickly, but the team held strong. From the flowing dress sourced from a local bridal shop to the dried floral accents that matched the landscape’s tones, every detail was intentional—and designed to reflect the kind of magic a Salt Flats elopement brings.
Whether you’re a couple dreaming of an elopement in Utah or a photographer looking to capture something different, the Salt Flats offer an unforgettable setting. It’s raw, real, and rewarding every single time.
