Stunning Snow Covered Elopement in the Forests of Utah

This session will go down in my books as one of the coldest sessions I have ever been a part of!  It will also go down as one of the coolest winter bridal sessions I have ever been able to shoot! When we were planning Jessica’s Bridal Session she said she wanted it to be in the mountains and hopefully with snow! Well I think we can safely say we nailed it! The location we found was a spot on the mountain where the trees were in a valley that was constantly hit by wind and snow drift AND sun light. These conditions made for some really pretty tries. The snow would blow and melt on the trees forming a layer of ice which made the tree’s look all white! That fact plus some fresh snow made this absolutely bridal session  magical!

From the moment we arrived, the setting felt like a quiet escape. No crowds. No distractions. Just the crunch of snow underfoot and a sense of calm you can only get in the stillness of winter. The bride wore a long-sleeved gown and cozy accessories that blended elegance with function, while the groom layered up in a look that was both sharp and weather-appropriate.

We timed their ceremony with the soft morning light, letting the frost and falling snow add a delicate glow to every frame. Afterward, we took a few moments to explore nearby trails and frozen meadows, capturing quiet exchanges and bursts of laughter between shivers.

For anyone dreaming of eloping in Utah and considering a winter setting—don’t overlook the beauty that snow can bring. As a Utah elopement photographer, I can promise you: cold hands are a small price to pay for the cozy, heartfelt magic that winter elopements create.
