A White Sands National Monument Elopement

I’m excited to be sharing some of my favorite images from this elopement in White Sands National Monument, New Mexico! This amazing couple from the Ukraine wanted a location that felt other worldly and epic. After some back and forth they decided on White Sands for its unique landscape. Little did we know we would be shooting in the middle of a sand storm! It was so bad at times I could barely see them through the storm. While the conditions where tough we came away with some of the coolest pictures I have taken!

Eloping at White Sands National Monument: A Dreamy Desert Escape

If you're looking for an elopement location that feels straight out of a dream, White Sands National Park (formerly White Sands National Monument) should be at the top of your list. With its rolling dunes of pure white gypsum, endless skies, and stunning sunsets, this New Mexico gem offers a breathtaking backdrop for couples wanting an intimate and adventurous wedding day.

Why Choose a White Sands Elopement?

A White Sands National Park elopement is perfect for couples who want a one-of-a-kind, cinematic setting without the crowds. The dunes stretch for miles, giving you privacy and an incredible variety of landscapes to explore. Whether you’re walking barefoot on the soft sand, exchanging vows as the sun dips below the horizon, or celebrating under a sky full of stars, every moment feels magical.

Beyond its beauty, White Sands is also incredibly versatile. Whether you envision a bohemian desert vibe, a chic minimalist ceremony, or a laid-back adventure, this place delivers. Plus, it’s an easy-to-access location—just a short drive from Las Cruces and about an hour from El Paso, Texas.

Best Time to Elope at White Sands

The best time for a White Sands National Park elopement is either spring or fall when the temperatures are mild, and the lighting is incredible. Summers can get extremely hot, so sunrise or sunset ceremonies are the way to go. The cooler months bring dramatic skies and even fewer crowds, making winter another great option.
